Lake Havasu Water Sports and Activity Guide:

Lake Havasu is the water sports enthusiast's mecca in the California and Arizona border area. There are literally no water sports that are not available on the warm inviting waters of beautiful Lake Havasu. You can have wet adventures to no end, including:
  • Rafting
  • Kayaking
  • Canoeing
  • Jetski
  • Snorkeling
  • Sailing
  • Pontooning
  • Windsurfing
  • Water skiing
If you're a more sporting water enthusiast, try some of these exciting Lake Havasu activities:
Barefoot water skiing is waterskiing with no skiis

Wakeboarding is similar to water skiing, but you only have one board

Wake skating is similar to wakeboarding, but the board is not attached to your feet

Skurfing, where you "skurf" behind a boat on a surfboard

Canoe Polo is polo using a canoe

Dragon Boat Racing is a team based paddling sport

Kite surfing using a kite for propulsion

Tubing down the river or behind a boat

The wide, still expanses of water to be found at Lake Havasu are absolutely perfect for water-skiing, kayaking and canoeing. Since there is usually a nice breeze out on the open waters of the lake, windsurfers have made Lake Havasu a real area favorite to enjoy wind-driven boating fun and recreation. Naturally, swimming is one of the best forms of water recreation especially during summer months when lake temperatures stay in the lukewarm and supremely comfortable 80-degree F range.

Other activities to not miss include:

Parasailing - Make sure to head directly to Lake Havasu Parasailing in order to get a once in a lifetime look at Lake Havasu from a parachute pulled by a powerful ski boat!

Scuba Diving - If you've never tried the sport, check out Aquastrophics Diving or Scuba Training & Technology, which offer year round classes to get you the certification required quickly and easily.

There are a lot of people who trailer their own watercraft to their vacation in Lake Havasu and can then launch them at one of several launches: Site Six (free), Windsor Beach State Park, Lake Havasu Marina, Crazy Horse Camp Ground, Cattail Cove State Park, Sandpoint Marina, or Havasu Springs Marina on the Arizona side, and Havasu Landing Marina, Havasu Palms Marina or Black Meadow Landing on the California side. However, there are many local businesses that will be glad to save you the trailering and the launching and rent you some exciting and exhilarating water craft that are already in the water, polished up and ready to go for a full day's fun.

A Lake Havasu Must Do is to visit the Adventure Center right under the London Bridge to rent paddlewheelers, bumperboats, waverunners, pontoon and ski boats. All Seasons Watersports on London Bridge Beach will rent you kayaks, canoes, tubes, skis, surfboards, kneeboards, wakeboards and skurfers. Rent a pontoon or deck boat from Barnacle Bill's Boat Rentals or Countryshire Boat Rentals. Paradise on the Lake and Fun Time Boat Rentals has tritoons for rent, and Long Day Boat Rentals will get you onto a fun day of Suntracking. When it's time to hit the lake in style, Offshore Charters will get you onto a 47 foot Fountain with a Coast Guard licensed captain.
